You may not think there are many nights manager jobs out there. However, this is not the case at all. In today’s demanding world, gone are the days when businesses operated on a Mon-Fri 9-5 schedule. More and more companies are operating 24 hours a day and 7 days a week to keep up with demand. So, while you have all your managers during the day, you also need someone to manage the workforce overnight. Enter the night manager. Jobs such as these often come with great responsibility, and because of the unsocial nature of the job, a lot of times they have a good salary.
What kind of night manager jobs are there?
Well for this blog, lets concentrate on hotel night manager jobs. This is an important role. As the night manager is not only responsible for running the hotel at night-time. They are also responsible to ensuring the safety of the guests who are soundly asleep in their bedrooms. Some of the duties would range from ensuring the premises is safe and secure. Then there would be the fire walks to ensure no potential exits are obstructed in the event of an emergency. A night manager may also be responsible for closing the resident’s bar. Any night manager will tell you this is no easy job. Moreover, you may have overseas guest arriving on late flights. These all need to be checked in and their rooms organised. If that was not enough, then there are the early checkouts for people catching flights etc. Some duties of the night manager may also be setting up a conference room for the next day. So, as you can see a night manager in a hotel is a busy and important one. Again, some may see it as a stepping stone onto a more senior hotel manager role
