The tourism and hospitality industry in the Republic of Ireland employs between 150,000 and 250,000 employees. Employed across all areas, earning over €6 billion for the Irish economy. The UK based holiday resort company Centre Parcs is opening a €233 million resort, employing 1,000 people, in County Longford in 2019. The Restaurant Association of Ireland notes a national shortage of skilled chefs. Tourism bodies report that more than 5,000 new hotel rooms are needed by 2020 to satisfy demand.
Hence there are various hotel jobs available, many of these involve serving as support staff. Many involve dealing with customers face-to-face in a variety of ways, but there are also administrative jobs that include positions in sales, marketing, and accounting. Food services jobs also abound currently in the hospitality industry.
