Action Recruitment are seeking an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager for our client, a five-star hotel in Dublin.  You must have previous experience as Assistant Restaurant Manager or Supervisor in a four or five-star hotel or similar fine dining establishment.  Reporting directly to the Restaurant Manager you will have responsibility for managing a team of 20 plus employees and primarily work lunch/dinner shifts.

The following are the key attributes and qualities required for this role:

  • Excellent culinary and beverage knowledge is desired
  • Must be a self-motivator, be focussed on team development and have excellent communication skills
  • Must be a people person, displaying professionalism and warmth in their approach with a passion and drive for the industry
  • A desire to progress within the industry; potential growth opportunities from within the company for the right candidate
  • WSET qualification level 2 is desired

As Assistant Restaurant Manager, the main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Restaurant Manager in monitoring the quality and presentation of all food items
  • Ensure guests are given prompt and attentive service at all times
  • Ensure that up-selling of food and beverage items is undertaken, maximising restaurant profitability
  • Liaise with the Chef team to ensure effective cooperation and communication between front & back of house operations
  • Ensure all procedures regarding wastage and cost control are adhered to
  • Deal with guests’ requests and complaints in a professional manner
  • Monitor weekly roster for all restaurant staff, ensuring that adequate staff levels are in place for expected business
  • To take a proactive role in encouraging teamwork, cooperation, and a positive attitude within the restaurant service team
  • Oversee the supervision of all staff in all restaurant areas and ensure that Company policies and procedures are followed at all times, and that Company standards are being upheld
  • At the end of each shift complete all necessary daily reports
  • Liaise with the Restaurant Manager and HR to ensure the restaurant team receive training, including health and safety, hygiene training etc.
  • Attend any training or meetings as and when required
  • Any other duties as required
